So, a couple of hours of web-searching and downloading and pondering at, a couple of minutes of installing a spare cheap network card, and another hour or so of installing and debugging, and my Pleasantly Obsolete Computer is now happily file-sharing with the rest of the computers I have. Which is good, as up until then I'd been installing software and transferring files off of it mostly by floppynet.
Who know Microsoft actually bothered to write utilities to let DOS computers work with Windows fileshare networks? And gives them away free to anyone who knows where in the deep dark twisty-turny passages of the back corners of their website to look for them?
