So, you may remember my previous entry about choosing a domain name. After pondering the options for a while (and thanks to everyone for your comments!), I settled on dpdx.net. And, this afternoon, I went ahead and purchased it.
The actual purchasing of it was nearly anticlimactic; it took maybe five minutes. On ejalbert's advice, I registered it with GKG ($9.99 for one year), and set up the DNS service with EveryDNS. EveryDNS is a neat project: a donation-supported free DNS service.
Anyhow, I've also got brooks.dpdx.net pointing at my current Stanford webspace. A webpage at the main location, and email service, will follow shortly -- and my thanks, again, to my friends who are running the server that I'll be using for that.
